  • FAQ

    Will this fit my machine?

This ripper is custom-fitted at the time of order. Select your mount option (Pin-On, Wedge Coupler, or Other) and provide your make and model at checkout, or send us a photo of your stick and pins for confirmation.

    What's a ripper used for?

Rippers break up hard, frozen, or compacted ground that a bucket can't dig. Common uses: ripping tree roots and stumps, tearing up asphalt edges, breaking concrete or demo material, loosening rocky or clay soil before bucket work, and prying out buried obstructions.

What's the difference between Standard and AR400 construction?

Standard construction is high-strength structural steel — handles most work and resists deformation under load. AR400 is an abrasion-resistant steel grade that holds an edge longer and shrugs off impact damage. Choose AR400 for frozen ground, rock-heavy work, demolition, or any high-wear environment.

Fixed tooth vs. Replaceable tooth — which should I pick?

Fixed tooth is welded to the shank — simpler, slightly tougher under impact, and lower cost. Replaceable tooth uses a bolt-on wear tip you can swap when it wears down — better for high-volume work where you'd otherwise be re-welding tips.

    How does the warranty work?

One year from delivery. If you have a manufacturing defect, send us photos and we'll arrange repair, replacement, or refund.

    Do you offer rush fabrication?

Sometimes — call 416-220-8550 to discuss your timeline.

What's the difference between trenching, grading, skeleton, rake, and ripper?

Trenching buckets are narrow with high break-out force for clean wall finish in utility and footing work. Grading buckets are wide with a straight cutting edge for finish work, backfilling, and site cleanup. Skeleton buckets sift material on the fly — ideal for rock and root separation in landscaping. Rakes are surface tools for gathering rocks, roots, and debris into piles. Rippers are single-shank tools for breaking hard ground, ripping roots, and tearing up demolition material — they go where a bucket can't.
